The success of the Big Latch On is due to all our fantastic hosts.
Thinking of hosting a Big Latch On in your community? Its easier than you think!
Step 1: Find friends to help you and choose a location
You could hold your event at home, in a park, at the beach, in a coffee shop, hospital, health center, local meeting room…use your imagination! You need to decide whether you will hold it on the Friday, the Saturday or on both days and you will need some witnesses to count the breastfeeding children. For lots of hints and tips on hosting the Big Latch On you can download our free Host Handbook.
Step 2: Register your location here
Whether your location is public or private you can register here. Record your Location ID and remember that you can log back in later to make changes. . If you are in New Zealand you need to register with the Big Latch On Founders here.
Step 3: Print out and read the Big Latch On Paperwork
You will need copies of the Rules, Sign in Sheets, Checklist and Posters. (You can find all of these here once registration opens)
Step 4: Promote your Big Latch On Location
Put up posters, set up a Facebook group and event, invite a local mums group or contact local media to let people know about your event. Remember to keep your location information on the Big Latch On website up to date.
