Can’t make it to a Virtual Big Latch On event?
As you would have read in Joanne’s last blog post, the Women’s Health Action team here in New Zealand are acting as Kaitiaki for the Global Big Latch On this year.
Due to the global pandemic, the Big Latch On 2021 is a virtual event, as it was in 2020. Last year’s event was hugely successful despite the challenges we all faced. World Breastfeeding Week was widely celebrated, with Virtual Big Latch On events happening all around the world, and we are so excited to do it all again.
In less than 4 weeks, World Breastfeeding Week kicks off (1st-7th August 2021). Virtual Big Latch On events are scheduled globally for the 6th, 7th, and 8th of August. We have over 95 events registered already, and participants are steadily registering too.
If you are interested in hosting an event, please check out the information on the website under the ‘Host’ tab. We have recently uploaded host resources for 2021 and you are welcome to use these images on social media to promote your event. There is also an infographic under the heading ‘Easy steps to hosting the big latch on’ if you are wondering about what is involved.
If you are interested in participating in the Virtual Big Latch On this year, please see the ‘Participate’ tab on the website. Here you can find an event that you wish to join and register with that event. Once you have done that on the website, the venue host will get in touch with you and share the event link. It is really that easy!
